As with February, May’s Community Challenge for whoever is interested in participating will be “Finish a neglected model”. Simply complete a single model (or more if you want) that you started painting at least 6 months ago, but still sits unfinished.
This challenge is designed to be Super Easy, Barely an Inconvenience. Last time we did this, ten of us managed to finish a figure or a few that had eluded completion for a significant amount of time, and by doing so, de-clutter the world’s collection of half-painted models by at least a small amount.
So if you’re keen for it, no need to sign up. Just pick a model that’s been neglected and during the month of May, make it into a completed model. If you’d like to be included in the wrap-up at the end of the month, it’s very helpful if you post a link in the comments section of THIS post, so everything is in one place when I go to stitch it all together.
And if you want some inspirations, just go and check out February’s wrap-up page!
I might finally finish that Changeling!!!

I could take this challenge, and finally complete a couple terrain pieces for Dystopian Wars that are gathering dust on my paint desk by way too much time…

That should work well for this. 🙂

I can indeed enter – as I cast several models that are getting around to the painting table. Also, I have to post my April Assembly today (sorry if so late), but I did get 2 done for that.

All good Mark. I haven’t photographed or posted any of mine either. I’m gong to try to get to that today.

I figure challenges are for finishing the models in the time allotted. If people need extra time for spraying, photography, and writing a blog post that makes perfect sense. I know I certainly need that extra time!

Ah, this sounds cool. I’ve got a couple models I could finish If I set some time aside to actually paint them. 🙂

You’re more than welcome to use the month to help motivate you to getting them done!

I’m sure I can find some, poor neglected model to work on. I’ll probably work some more on the armless tankbusta, who was in the last Neglected Model Challenge, so I will actually make sure I get something done, and I’ll probably pick away some on Becky the Bloater, though I doubt I’ll get her completely done.

Sounds like a plan, Ann.
And who knows? If you’re able to get away from distractions for a few hours one weekend, put on some nice music or an interesting podcast, you might find Becky is finished at the end of it!

Although Becky did get hauled out of the WIP area a couple of times, she, alas, didn’t end up getting any more paint on her for May, though I did finish a long-neglected tankbusta as my humble offering for May’s challenge.

No problem, Ann – still great to see something finished. Perhaps you can haul Becky out for Decemburary in July next month? Hell, you know how my challenge rules work – you can be working on her this month to finish next month and it still counts! 🙂

Thank you, Azazel, I’m glad I was able to get something finished, that is true. I put up some different pictures, while not great or anything, are more representational of how the klaw thingie turned out.
Thank you too for the heads up about July. That is a good idea, continuing to pick away at Becky with the idea that if I do she might actually get done by the end of July. For June, I’m not sure what I’ll end up doing. As always so many candidates!
