Shadows of Brimstone: Void Sorcerers – Masters of the Void Deluxe Enemy Pack

Shadows of Brimstone: Void Sorcerers

We’re starting off July’s models with some more Shadows of Brimstone models.

This time it’s the trio of Void Sorcerers that go with the Void Hounds completed recently – to complete the Masters of the Void expansion pack.

Shadows of Brimstone: Void Sorcerers

They’re pretty straightforward, and reasonably simple paintjobs across the three, with one of the trio painted slightly differently in case I ever need to distinguish a leader model from the three. I also turned two of their heads a little to make them a little less like photocopies of one another, though since Flying Frog’s sculptors don’t seem to understand ball joints I had to do some cutting and then putty up the gap that it created.

Shadows of Brimstone: Void Sorcerers, Forgotten Chapters Decals

The text of the books was created using decals from the Forgotten Chapters Kickstarter that I backed awhile back – they’re still available from the Forgotten Chapters website, and the vendor, Bruno is a pretty nice guy to deal with.

I figured I should also take a group shot of the Void Sorcerers alongside the Void Hounds, given that they’re both parts of the same boxed set if you were to purchase them today. Having gotten them all complete, I may even be able to take a short break from pinks and purples for a little while now…

I’ve also thrown old Chainsaw Girl Berkerly in there as well so you can see that the Sorcerers are also some tall bois. As with many of the models I paint, and especially for the Brimstone ones, they’re pretty versatile with potential for a variety of games. So there’s that. 🙂

Shadows of Brimstone Forbidden Fortress: Acid Blobs

Shadows of Brimstone Forbidden Fortress: Acid Blobs

We’re starting off June’s model posts with more Shadows of Brimstone – and not just any Shadows of Brimstone models, but these exemplars of low-effort sculpting (and painting – let’s not pretend otherwise). So does the fact that these are from the Forbidden Fortress campaign and not the original mean I’ve finally completed all of the Original SoB stuff and can/have been play(ing)? Of course not!

I’m not sure how well a chainsaw will work against big blobs of acid, but if anyone can do this, it’s Chainsaw Girl!

Simply put, while cleaning up and consolidating boxes of stuff in the War Room, I found these, loose – as well as two other monster types that just screamed “low effort to get painted” and so I “tidied them up” by removing them from the box so I could put the other crap from FF into a smaller box, and brought them indoors to paint. The other figs I brought in aren’t painted yet, of course – because I got distracted…
