Once again, I managed to get a few of these “special” walkers painted up over the course of November. While I did manage to get a fair few “regular” zombies painted over the month, I feel that these VIP walkers do deserve a little more time and effort in getting them painted (for the most part, anyway!) I do wonder how well these will stand out once I have more and more zombie models painted – especially once I get to the Second Edition zombies, who are generally much more unique, wacky and “out there” compared to the 1st Edition models.
First up we’ve got the sterotypical punks in their full “uniforms”. I wanted to differentiate the two models, despite sharing the same sculpt – so aside from different mohawk dye, one got camo pants in a rough estimation of multicam while his mate got the classic plaid punk-style “bondage pants”. I painted their boots as Doc Martens by adding the yellow sole stitching (which you can barely see in my bad photos) to both the Black and the Cherry Reds, and after a bit of poking around, I figured that the Black Flag and DK logos would be the easiest to “read” on such mangled tops.
Next up, we have the Cops. (Bad Cops, Bad Cops!) I painted these two lads based on our own Victoria Police. To this end, they got the dark blue uniforms, the chequered dicing sillitoe tartan hat banding (which you can barely see in the photos) and an attempt to paint in the ridiculously complex VicPol badge onto their tiny hat and chest badges (and paint them into their shoulders!)
Finally, a pair of sailors, whose excitably jaunty poses made me think of this little ditty….
Of course, there’s only two of these sailor zombies (they must have eaten their fellow!) They do however both wear moustaches, so in retrospect they make for my somwhat anaemic contribution to the Mo’vember painting challenge. which I *think* Roger of Rantings From Under the Wargames Table was running…
