Marvel United: Black Panther

Marvel United: Painted Black Panther Miniature

Today’s model is one from Marvel United – the only one of these I have to show for the time being (until I get some more painted!) Following on from my previous Marvel Crisis Protocol post, we once again have Black Panther.

A pretty straightforward figure this time. I went for silver edging even though gold would have stood out a lot more against the purple of his costume. (Not Grey this time!)

That’s it for today’s post. I don’t really have any more to write about this one!

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Black Panther

Another addition to my Marvel Crisis Protocol collection today – King T’Challa himself, Black Panther. This Black Panther figure is actually in one of my favourite poses from the Crisis Protocol figures I’ve painted so far – not perched atop a huge tactical rock/explosion/girder/magic effects, but crouched down low and ready to go. I’m much more a fan of grounded poses for miniatures in general, let alone for transport and storage!

The sculpt has some veeery fine, shallow lines on it – the kind a comic artist would draw in and then a 3D modeller who doesn’t know much about painting minis would then add in when working from their reference pics – so not the best for actually painting in details, but then weird little flaws like this are par for the course with MCP models. You can juuuust see them if you look really closely. So don’t look closely and they shouldn’t be so bothersome. I guess.

His base has him standing on some shattered ground, so I integrated the rest of the base in with some state and then placed him on the edge of some dirt with a little grass – still something quite urban but a change from the typical concrete streets the MCP models are standing on.
