A pretty quick one today – some chests I’ve been knocking out in small batches over the last few days. We were cleaning up a little (not that you’d notice!) and I found a tub with these in it, primed and forgotten about several years ago – because who needs more chests, right? Anyway, in order to get rid of them for good (and maybe good use in a game one day) I decided to smash the little bastards out. No idea where the pillars from this set are – I can’t find them on the blog, so they’re unlikely to be painted, so no doubt they’re also in a tub somewhere with other annoying little bits. Possibly primed but certainly waiting for me to come across them in a similar mood to the one that took me this past weekend when I decided to get the chests done instead of shoving the whole container to the side.

They look great. I think I only count two separate designs there, but when you vary the colours used, they don’t look the same.

Yeah, as far as “planning” went on these varied colours was as far as I had gone before I started – just so they wouldn’t all look the same!

They look spot on! 🙂 It would never even have crossed my mind to have coloured ones!

The amount of colour variation happened more or less organically. I started with dark brown, then the ochre, then I wanted to do ruddy brown that turned out to basically be red. Then I thought I may as well do blue. Then with the last ones I went for a mid-brown and a couple in green to finish…

Great work on the chests mate, the different colours will be a huge bonus during gaming.

Thanks Dave – if we need to vary them for whatever reason we can certainly do so now!

Very nice. The different colours are definitely handy for objective markers.

Thank you – another potential use as you point out!

I’m sure it felt good to get these finished up. They look great and the idea to paint them different colors was smart too I’d say. Have you played MD2 yet? I’m intrigued by it but I don’t need any new games at the same time. I can barely get the two I own done it feels like 🙂

Thanks Kuribo. MD2 is one i was looking at playing recently when going through games, since we wanted to get more tabletop stuff going again, but we’ve started playing through Zombicide Toxic City Mall since I finally got all of those zombies finished earlier this year. Everyone seems to say that MD2 is pretty great, though!
