Obviously, Cole is based on Ash from the Evil Dead franchise in a certain point in the timeline – right down to the very specific rip in his shirt. But you knew most of that already from the post title if you didn’t immediately recognise it. And while I know I’m not really “supposed” to be painting Zombicide models this month, what with the Season of Scenery thing and all happening, but as I said in my previous post – I’m still willing to knock out individual models that are close to completion, and that pesky “order of operations” thing I’m wanting to do.
So basically yesterday I saw this model on his Citadel Painting Handle ™ as I was trying to make room on the painting desk, had a good look at what was left to do on him, and then put the minimal amount of effort into completing him to make room for that other stuff.
Model wise, this is one that I picked up from the Studio Miniatures “Plastic Zombies” Kickstarter about a decade or so ago when Kickstarter was new and shiny, and was one of the extras offered – and certainly one of the better sculpts offered in metal at the time. Sadly, Studio Miniatures is no more, but at least their models live on over at Hayland Terrain. Seems the sculpt quality offered by Studio really did improve dramatically over the years. There’s quite a few nice Zombicide-friendly models at Hayland I wouldn’t mind potentially picking up one day – I wonder if they do Black Friday sales?

I’d think he’s just about a must have in a zombie themed game. The likeness definitely shines through in the face as well. I’m guessing you’ll start showing off some terrain soon and I’m curious to see what you’ve got up your sleeve!

Thanks mate. I’m wanting to get some approriate vehicles (they also count, as per Dave’s rules) done to post alongside the scenery to provide scale. I’ve got 4 sets of three tanks getting close, but not quite there yet. In the meantime I’ve been finishing off some of these almost-done Zombicide models done to make space on the painting desk!

Nicely done! 🙂 Nowt wrong with painting minis alongside scenery – I’ve just finished some myself to clear a bit of space!

Cheers John! I started trying to paint some more 28mm infantry miniatures last week. Instead, I’ve finished 6 tanks and 16 scatter terrain pieces. 😮

Very cool – I used to love the lil kickstarter freebies (that was before I had to go to KS rehab & get myself clean 😂)

Heh. I’m mostly clean these days. Waiting on a few things from CMoN that may or may not ever arrive and then just a boardgame from Monolith (and an occasional Archon project).
But other than that, I’m totally out, man 🤯

Oh yeah. I’m in the same boat across time periods, scale and genres for my unfocused tank painting!
