Wargame Forge 3D Prints: Sci-Fi Building 16 Building/Ruined Sci-Fi Building 16 - SF016 & SFR016

Another pair of prints from Wargame Forge over on MyMiniFactory again today – these are two versions of “Sci-Fi Building 16”, which I scaled up to 133%. As I’ve noted a whole bunch of times I intend to use these buildings for both 6-8mm scales, and so often bump my prints up a little in size so that Legions Imperialis Infantry (which I’ll be using for Battletech Infantry when needed as well) don’t look way oversized.

As you can see, the buildings are pretty large compared to the models – and while the infantry are still a liiitle bit big compared to the buildings we really wouldn’t want to go larger with these prints. I did the windows in the way I’ve done a lot of these, and went with “silver/iron/steel” rather than grey or beige etc – with a bit of silver-blue (Grey Knights Steel from GW) and some blue inks airbrushed on – and then a satin gloss to finish – just so that the steel didn’t look more like a dull grey.

Once again – these terrain prints work for Dave Stone’s Season of Scenery ’25.

    • Thanks mate – it’s a very retro-futuristic-modern design that wouldn’t look too out of place in a city like Singapore or in The Jetsons. That’s one thing I like about WF’s “Sci-Fi” range – more than just the “standard Imperial” looking kinds of building.

In an Imperium that has guard regiments that look as varied as Cadians, Catachans, Mordians and Vostroyans from different planetary cultures, it just seems …unlikely that there would only be one style of architecture everywhere with no local flavour.

Also, this is how things looked before GW started making plastic terrain kits (or even the card + bulkhead ones) – sure we had lots of Gothic arches and flying buttresses, but all kinds of sci-fi terrain were common to see on tables.

Hope this helps inspire your Kaiju-city future!

    • Thanks mate! The kind words are much appreciated. I always do my best to credit creators with their work and then link back to where they can be found. I’ve got literally dozens more of your models printed and in the painting pipeline and even more than than still in STL form, so feel free to have a look in now and then when you have time.

You’ll probably find over time this blog’s images of painted prints will start to dominate Google Image Searches of “Wargame Forge” as I get more and more painted and posted – something I find rather cool personally that I can help show how good a lot of non-GW models can look even with my paint on them! 😉

      cheers!
