Fabricator’s Lair X nonPareil Institute 3D Prints: 1×2 Medium A & Power Generator

More 3d printed terrain pieces as per usual today – though this time we have two small prints – one each from nonPareil Institute and one from Fabricator’s Lair. Basically, while I was playing around with these two printed elements, I found that the Generator clicked into place quite firmly on the roof of the small Fabricator’s lair piece, and actually looked pretty good for a small building. What could I do? I made it so!

Deciding on a paint scheme was pretty straightforward – I’ve always been a fan of Adeptus Mechanicus in Red since the Rogue Trader days, though I will say that edging this building was a bit of a nightmare – one only made bearable by my AK Interactive Paint Pens (not sponsored, but look at all them lines!) Luckily the generator element was much more straightforward. I like to do “plasma” coils in copper tones, and then only add some bluish glow if they’re activated. Which these ones are presently not. Clearly.

Here’s a scale shot of them for both Epic and 32/40mm scale. As long as you’re happy to “read” those mesh grids as windows in one scale and vents in the other, I think this piece will do just fine. And we have another (pair of) model(s) that count for Dave Stone’s Season of Scenery ’25 – Extended Edition.

  1. That building has some very fine details and it looks really nice all painted up! I like the weathering on the top bit, in particular! A power plant is a fantastic strategic location in wargaming and could potentially have all kinds of fun rules, if you want to incorporate them as well.
