Wargame Forge 3D Prints: Tech Cult Storage Tank 2 – Intact/Ruined/Destroyed versions

Wargame Forge 3D Prints: Tech Cult Storage Tank 2 - Intact version

Another set of paid-for STLs from Wargame Forge over on MyMiniFactory today – the second type of Tech Cult Storage Tanks. I had planned to post these alongside the ones yesterday but it turned out I was missing a photo, so I had to hold off and take that missing photo today.

The painting was done in the exact same manner as detailed in yesterday’s post.

I don’t even have anything interesting to type here. So have some more photos.

These last two photos give visual context to these models. I can use one of each and then have them progressively more damaged and destroyed or simply lay them all out for the appearance of an area that has suffered significant but partial refinery damage.

First picture shows them alongside Battletech and Legions Imperialis models, while the second alongside 40k, Crisis Protocol and Star Wars Legion.

Once again, these were completed during the timeframe of Dave Stone’s Paint What You Got Challenge 25-26!

  1. Nice!
So, we see an awful lot of beautiful terrain from you. When are we going to see a battle report where you have this amazing scenery and beautiful figures fighting it out?
I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d like to see such a thing 🤔

    • Thanks mate. The truth of it is space and time are my biggest impediments. Time to read and learn rules as I both need to read/learn them as well as teach them to Marouda as we go for a home game. I’m WAY out of practice (and editions) for most rulesets, especially GW’s overly-dense ones.

The other one is space. The War Room has become a bit overwhelmed over the last year or two with both boxes of Kickstarters and purchases in storage alongside a metric ton of printer filament. Add to that the table we use for gaming also being the one we use for a general purpose bench when printing and assembling multi-part prints, the filament dryer, oil washing sessions, stipple-painting sessions, larger terrain photography and of course the monthly round-up posts.

We’ve been talking about a clean-up/reorganisation of space so we can try to get at least one tabletop game in each weekend – whether it’s a minis game, a card game, a board game or a board game since we haven’t been using the space for actual gaming – which was the point of the space in the first place.

I do plan to try some Alpha Strike shortly within the next couple of weekends, and also some Crisis Protocol – so hopefully sooner than later!

      • Ah, I sympathise. I too have space issues and time issues, different ones but same story. And live a good hour away from all my gamer buddies. Mrs Tank Rants will play board games but not wargames, though as my posts show my son does play occasionally.
I will keep an eye out for Alpha Strike. I have played Battletech but find it a bit too detailed and tedious, preferring the HeroClix MechWarrior version instead as a game, but the figures are much less nice.
I understand Alpha Strike is simpler, so could be interesting.
I will be very interested to see any battle reports of that! I really like the ‘Mechs you’ve done.

    • Thanks mate! The versatility is really the credit of the designers and the type of terrain. Hills and fuel tanks and weirdly-sheped generic sci-fi buildings tend to work well across scales better than city blocks with scaled doors and windows! 🙂

  2. Nice to see another variation on this design. As I mentioned before, the versatility of it is really impressive. Other terrain manufacturers should take note! Most importantly, you did a great job painting both up and that really sells them too 🙂

    • Thanks mate. I’m currently mulling over the idea of printing another set of six of these so I can set up a bit more of a dense/realistic refinery area (and combine with the horton spheres). What do you think?

      • That would be great for Sci-Fi and Necromunda, I reckon. If you aren’t tired of painting them up, I’d say go for it! They definitely are nice enough to be the main focus of a table in my opinion. Having them in different states should make everything pretty lifelike too.
