So recently we picked up “Zombicide: Pariz” – even though we’re not likely to play it anytime soon, given the play queue – with CMON’s current financial issues it kinda felt like a “buy it or don’t/FOMO” opportunity. Looking into it a little bit, it turns out that this version of Zombicide, set in the eponymous city features “trees” (check), “trapdoors” (check) and a Guillotine.
Kind of weird that this is the first guillotine featured in the series, given the studio behind the game.
Anyway, after reading this, I had a quick gander to see if there was a decent, free STL of one of these death machines out there, and I found this one – Guillotine for 28mm Miniatures Gaming by a 3D artist called “Brease”.
Shortly afterwards, the model was added to Flippy’s work queue, and then over the course of several days, I gave it a simple paintjob, suitable for the tabletop. The rope doesn’t have a spiral texture sculpted in, but it was pretty simple to paint in some diagonal lines to give it the effect.
And now I’ve finally managed to show off a model for Dave Stone’s Season of Scenery, 2025 edition! I’ve just found out that Dave is going through a bit of a rough time health-wise right now, so Marouda and I are hoping to hear from Dave that he’s made a speedy and smooth recovery – hope to see you posting again soon, mate!
