Zombicide Ghostbusters Crossover – Venkman, Stantz, Spengler and Zeddemore

Zombicide Ghostbusters Crossover - Venkman, Stantz, Spengler and Zeddemore

I’ve finally completed the final – and most important – models from the CMON Zombicide Ghostbusters crossover boxes – the actual four Ghostbusters!

Even though I’d finished all of the “monsters” from these sets quite some time ago, I was stuck on the fab four Ghostbusters models for a few years, and so I’ve recently finally forced myself to get them finished – it took quite a lot of time and checking of photo references to get all of their uniforms, never mind all of those little stickers and badges and lights and details on their Proton Packs.

We haven’t yet used any of these Ghostbusters models or characters ingame, but Gozer is a custom Abomination, while Slimer is actually a companion card to the Ghostbusters. Not sure how that works in practise, maybe something similar to the Zombicide Dog Companions?

Here’s the final shot of the whole gang, completed. We’ll be trying out the rules for all of these figures shortly to see how well they go, and find out if they work well integrated into the larger mass of Zombicide if ihey are better suited for “special” themed games. Either way, it’s a pretty cool set to own and have painted up nicely for the shelf!

Last post for January and February, aside from the combined round-up that will be next. Both of these figures are “inspired by” promo figures. “Bill” is from the “Gaming Night 3” set, and “Ralph” from Season 2’s extras.

The first figure is Ian McShane as Deadwood’s “Al Swearengen”. Getting the pin-stripe suit was a real bear at this scale, so hopefully the impression of it works well enough on the figure in photos. Of course at actual size it works a bit better, and then on the table at arm’s length the stripes kind of disappear into the subliminal as they do in real life at a distance. So good enough for a Zombicide model, anyway! I do need to get around to watching Deadwood as well!

Our second figure today – and the last for January-February is Woody Harrelson’s “Tallahassee” from the rather excellent film, “Zombieland” and it’s incredibly disappointing sequel “Zombieland: Double Tap”. Painting Tallahassee was really straightforward and easy – I can’t figure out why I kept putting him off for so long! Then again, there’s always a huge pile of figures waiting and so often selecting the next Zombicide survivor for the painting queue is a combo of randomness and “feel” at the moment I’m looking through the figures.

I do also have the “Wichita” figure that I painted a few years ago. It seems a little odd that CMON never produced a Jesse Eisenberg/Columbus figure. The lack of Little Rock makes a bit more sense as the character was a kid, and back in 1st edition the game didn’t have “youth” characters. These are my final models for January and February, and as such the last for Dave Stone’s Paint What You Got Challenge 24-25. I’ll have the round-up post up in a couple of days, but for now, I’m taking a couple of days off after all these daily posts before getting onto March’s stuff!
