Zombicide: Prison Outbreak – Prison Tower (3D Print)

Zombicide: Prison Outbreak - Prison Tower

Today I have another 3d Print – this time it’s a replacement for the simple “prison tower” tile from the standalone Prison Outbreak expansion.

As with the Black Plague Trapdoors from the other day, this one was a free STL that I found online – this time on Cults3D.

Painting was pretty straightforward. I wanted the whole thing to be an overall dull grey, no red brick or tiles, no warm wood for the rails – so I got various shades of grey and dull metal for the various components of the building, but then it seemed too dull, so the OH&S department came to the rescue with some safety yellow for the ladder, the guardrails, the door frame and the “stand clear” area on the platform floor – which then got dirtied up and chipped and worn.

Now the life-or-death struggle to survive against the undead horde can be done in a manner that’s properly OH&S compliant, as demonstrated here by Berkeley and friends wildly swinging their melee weapons while shotguns blast overhead.

It also turns out that this tower fits the “close enough” scale to be used in Marvel Crisis Protocol, which means that aside from Zombicide it’s got a use case for many modern game settings. It would probably work for WWII reasonably well with a different paintjob with more wood and less OH&S yellow!

Either way, I have another entry for Dave Stone’s Apocalypse Me painting challenge running throughout October!

Zombicide Toxic City Mall Expansion: Toxic Walkers Pts.5 &6

Zombicide Toxic City Mall Expansion: Toxic Walkers

Today we have the final two poses of Toxic Zombies from Zombicide: Toxic City Mall! Two different sets of male Zombies in puffer jackets.

While the blog hasn’t had consistent updates over the last couple of months, I was still doing some painting during that period, even if I was not actively posting.

So with two more sculpt types left to complete the Toxic Zombies, I managed to knuckle down and get them (finally) complete. If I had been posting with frequenct at the time I did these, we’d have had a post for each as I got each set done, but as I’m posting them tso much later a combined post for both works.

Both types of remaining walkers are males wearing puffer jackets. When photographed en masse these two poses in particular look like a troupe of dancers from the Thriller music video.

With these shirtless, puffer-jacket-wearing undeadlies, you can pretty clearly see why I did not put out the call for more t-shirt design nominations – though there will be (at least one more) set of T-shirt wearers in the (near? ish?) future to paint.

That’s it for the moment. I’ve not quite got all of the survivors and such from, Toxic City Mall painted (yet, I think?) but I’ll have to get a shot of all of my Toxic Zombies as well as a “boxed set completed” shot including the survivors once I have them all done.
