Cthulhu: Death May Die – Father Luke & Sister Beth

Cthulhu: Death May Die Miniatures - Father Luke, Sister Beth, Cthulhu Investigators

It’s been a good while now since I completed a pair of Death May Die investigators. I missed my target to get any investigators completed in June entirely, though I was working on these two during the month and managed to get several creatures painted as well. Now at the start of July I present my (hopeful) redemption with Father Luke, hailing from Lismore in Ireland and his Cohort in Christ, Sister Beth, from Bogota, Columbia.

The artwork for both characters shows them as pretty straightforward, so I followed the artwork more or less in using deep blue-greys to highlight their predominantly-black clothing, though perhaps not going so blue-tinged as in the artwork. I think they read pretty well as black, either way. There’s not a whole lot else to discuss for either of these two, really – but on the positive side I now have only eight more Investigators to paint before moving onto the cultists (and back onto Zombicide Survivors!) Which makes me realise that I forgot to do my mid-year goal-check in June’s round-up post… hm…

  1. The work you’ve done on the black cloth is sublime, really elevates the whole ambiance of each piece (turns off art critic mode) Dead good mate ! LOL

    • Thanks mate. These are from the boxed board games Cthulhu: Death May Die core set (nun) and the Season 2 Expansion (priest) for same.
It’s a pretty good board game, though it can be pretty challenging as well.
You might be able to find some on eBay either from people parting out the box or Chinese “factory backdoor” sellers…

  2. Definitely reads as expertly done black! 😉 Looks like there’s some slight variation in tops and bottoms? Like the priest has a lighter jacket than his pants. Wasn’t sure if that’s intentional or maybe just the lighting. It looks pretty nice! 😃

    • Thanks mate – it’s a little different on his jacket but yeah, I’m very happy with how they turned out – especially after stalling out on them for about a month since highlighting the black wasn’t playing nice at first…

    • Thanks mate. I’ve mould-line-cleaned one of the cultists so far. Unfortunately, they’re badly placed and so are going to be a right pain in the arse to do so could be a couple of weeks before I get them cleaned up. Still 6 more Investigators to do in the meantime, though – not to mention an endless number of Zombicide Survivors….
