Star Wars Shatterpoint Terrain: Crates

Star Wars Shatterpoint Terrain: Crates

A super quick one today – I got Shatterpoint as a pre-order awhile back and given that it’s the Season of Scenery 2023 I spent a little bit of time assembling and painting them. Spray Vallejo Desert Yellow, drybrushed with VMC Buff, washed with dulited Army Painter Strong Tone, then sponge-weathered with dark grey and a few spots of metallic in the bigger chips.

I didn’t make any one side darker with ground-dirt, as they’re the sort of pieces that are very much any side faces up/down/etc on the table. I don’t have any painted Shatterpoint models yet, so scale is provided by the (presumably) similarly slightly oversized Captain USA, Skullface, Primaris Man and Berkeley.

  1. Excellent looking crates mate, and makes sense leaving them the same all round so you can put them up whichever way you need to. How much difference is the scale of the shatterpoint models to Legion and Imperial Assault ?

  2. Wow. Neat stuff. Shatterpoint is tempting. But perhaps another mpney pit. I’m so deep into Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, Marvel Champions, Star Wars: The Card Game. I best slow down. I want to stay married. Ha!!

  3. The crates look great and I’d bet they were quick to do as well. The Fallout terrain I just finished up used a similar set of techniques (washing/glazing and then chipping to finish it off) and I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I could get them done.

    • Thanks mate – yep, they were a quick set to do. I’m working on a few terrain set type things and trying to clear out some of the smaller pieces to make space sop I can concentrate a bit more on the larger ones. It’s a nice quick and effective method of doing terrain, so it’s also cool to hear it’s working for you as well! 🙂
