Who? While I personally have no idea who these guys are, the Zombicide site tells us the following: Jovem Nerd is a popular Brazilian blog & podcast that explores all aspects of nerd culture. Commanded by Jovem Nerd (Alexandre Ottoni) and Azaghâl (Deive Pazos). So I guess at least some of the Guillotine Games crew are big fans of this particular blog, since the duo have appeared in Zombicide itself as well as having a set of Black Plague characters of their own as well.
Since these guys are apprently pop culture fans, I thought I’d give Jovem a Spidey T-Shirt instead of the overly-complex and somewhat confusing one that he has on the card art.
His flamethrower tank looked rather odd. More like a big vial with a stopper in it… It also kind of looked more like a sprayer tank to me than a flamethrower, so I just painted it in a bright generic red to lean into it rather than a military green and threw a number decal onto it to draw attention away from the facty that it doesn’t look like an actual flamethrower tank. I’ve kinda messed that up now by talking about it, I guess…
Azaghal (not Azazel!) had a bog-standard black T-shirt on his artwork. I added a hint of a rather famous band shirt that fits with his character look…
Not a bad model. Sculpting on the axes is a bit soft, but we’ll live.
As mentioned, these guys may be huge in the Portugese and Spanish-speaking geek communities, but I have no idea who they are. I tracked down the box to have another pair of survivors, and now that they’re painted they kinda remind me of Taz and Tony Schiavone – so I reckon to me that’s who they’ll “be” in our games…
Now all we need is Good Ole’ J.R.!

Fantastic work on all 4 mate, especially the freehand on the T-shirts. Now you have mentioned Taz and Schiavone, I can’t unsee it ! LOL you need an Excalibur as well to complete the quartet as well as J.R. ! LOL

Haha thanks Dave. I’m not sure if there are any survivors with lucha masks that I can use to emulate old sock-face ;), but then even if there is a lucha mask-themed survivor there’d be some pretty stiff competition for the paint there, like Rey or Ultimo Dragon. 😀

You’re not wrong on how many great lucha libre that would be worthy before a commentator, my personal all time favourite would have to be Rey

Yup, it’s just have to be an appropriate model for Rey. I’d love to find good enough models for Rey, Ultimo, and La Parka – just to start with… 😀

Well, it’s yet another “What Dave Stone said” moment, but I especially like the tee shirts! 🙂

Thanks John. I’m thinking I may need to modify one of those T-Shirts at this stage..

My God, that is Tony and Taz! The minis look great but now I wonder what X AEW wrestler would say if confronted by these miniatures! 😀 These will definitely be fun in future Zombicide games for who they could be mistaken for if nothing else.

Thanks Kuribo. I’m very tempted now to repaint that mostly-obscured AC-DC shirt that “Taz” is wearing with an AEW shirt, which will be a little more recognisable.
I need to find a survivor that will work to paint up as Mr Pepsiman Brooks. Someone with the melee skills to beat up counterfeit bucks and the kids on the jungle gym.
And maybe a dog called Larry… hm….

I like the shirt idea! Maybe Dave Stone can sculpt you an FTW belt too! Yeah, someone to beat up on Jungle Boy would be good… I swear not everyone in Chicago is combative as he seems to be these days. I don’t know what to make of him anymore and he was probably my favorite wrestler when he was at his peak in WWE. It seems like he’s becoming what he hated in some ways.

Punky Boy has never been one to take shit, and so I put most of the blame for it ALL on TK for not being much firmer with all of the talent much, much earlier. All the stuff about Cabana being fed to Meltzer (who loves the Bucks and was happy to regurgitate all the rumours) and then Hangman (who I used to be a huge fan of) going into business for himself really kicked it all off. At worst TK should have clamped down then.
Look at how credible Meltzer is these days compared to someone like SRS. I don’t think he’s on the payroll but my god he’s pretty openly biased while pretending he’s impartial and objective.
Wrestlers are always going to get heat with one another -always have, always will. Blame goes to TK for being a weak “leader” who just wants it to be All Friends Wrestling in a business filled with egos and Meltzer for being a useful idiot. I blame both of them more than Punk/Page/Bucks etc.
On the most recent case, I really feel like Jack (who is midcard at best) could have easily done his PPV spot (which I felt was a nothing spot as it happened) without being a douche into the camera about it. He decided to fuck around and then he found out.
And I …may. have found a Reaper figure to work as a custom CM Punk: Zombipocalypse Survivor.

Nice work Az! The tank looks suitably post apocalyptic and although odd to us they do things differently in South America!

Absolutely my thoughts as well, Guru – nothing to say that it couldn’t be a jury-rigged fuel tank that perhaps once held insecticide or paint or some other pressurised liquid to spray…

I had to laugh that your freehand skills are superb enough that you consider a Spidey shirt not complex! Spidey comic artists often complained about having to draw all those webs on his costume. And even moreso after McFarlane popularized the spaghetti webbing. 😃
