Another pair of Marvel Zombies’ Wimminz – this time it’s Pepper Potts and sweet old, doting Aunt May. I’m aware of Pepper from the comics, but most of my familiarity with her comes from Gwyneth Paltrow’s depiction throughout the MCU films. I painted the model pretty much based on her generic look on the card, down to the strawberry-blonde hair and the rather innocuous briefcase that she’s holding. No doubt full of files, papers and pens. Pretty straightforward, really, and I’m still working on my highlighting of black clothing since I don’t want the highlights of her dark clothing to be noticible without making it look like she’s wearing a shiny PVC skirt.
Aunt May on the other hand was a whole lot more work. Her skirt is on it’s third repaint, since the first iteration was too pink, then too purple, and finally I settled on this shade of attempted-lavender. Damn, the purple spectrum of colours can be tricky! This appears to be the frail, doting, comic version of May, as opposed to the matriarchal overseer of the Spider-Verse or the younger, MILFy, go-getter of later MCU depictions. The pose really sells the personality here, I think.
Anyway, we’re almost at the end of my FeMarch models – aka “I failed at getting them finished in time for Fembruary”. Hopefully Alex forgives me when he gets back to posting! 😉

Both look excellent mate, and agree purple can be a total pain, when trying to get the perfect shade, but I think you nailed it on this one. As for Pepper’s briefcase, is it a briefcase or a spare suit for Tony ! LOL

Both miniatures appear painted to a high standard and we especially like Aunt May for how you highlighted her clothes. Those who admire the beautiful results that are shown in photos on the web are not always aware of the attempts and changes during the paintjob. Blessing and curse of painting!

Thanks mate. It’s funny when you show someone who isn’t familiar with a painted model their reaction is often something like “oh, that’s nice” and then you show them an unpainted one and only then does it suddenly blow their mind!

Both of them look great and for Marvel miniatures they’re pretty mundane in a good way. I enjoy painting civilian miniatures like these and I’ll have to see if I can’t get some in my queue/backlog as its been a few years now it feels like. Thanks for the inspiration as always, mate! 🙂

Thanks mate, I did end up enjoying them quite a bit once I motivated myself to get working on them properly. Nice to have some relatively simple, non-overladen with gear or detail one-and-done unique models that are also nice sculpts.
