Zombicide Angry Neighbors Survivors “Tiff” & “Jeff”

Zombicide Angry Neighbors Survivors “Tiff” (Tiffany), & "Jeff" Don Johnson (Miami Vice)

Following with the light theme of theming these Zombicide Survivor posts, the two models we have today both come from the Angry Neighbors expansion. Despite some superficial resemblances to 1980’s celebrities, it turns out that this pair of Survivors simply paid CMoN a shitload of money via the “I Am Legend” pledge level to be included in the game as playable characters. And there I thought we might have had references to Tiffany and Don Johnson.

For some reason.

Anyway, Tiff(any) was a pretty straightforward model to paint, with her two slightly different shades of double-denim and guitar-axe.

How could I possibly have thought this model was a homage to a certain 80’s pop princess?

So anyway, she turned out to be a nice, easy model to paint. The raw sculpt looked like it might have been a bit over-detailed and busy and a pain in the arse, but in the end, nope – super easy, barely an invonvenience.

As with Tiff, I just followed the card art for Jeff’s scheme. Actually.. that’s not… you, Jeff? …Jeff?

Well, even if it’s not Jeff, there’s certainly no resemblance to Don Johnson from Miami Vice. Nosiree.

I didn’t even change up the colour I painted the shirt – it’s from the card art.

Anyway, given that these two are simply based on Kickstarter backers rather than celebrities, I don’t have a lot else to say about them. I’m sure we absolutely won’t refer to them as Tiffany or Don Johnson in our games around here, becauser that would just be silly in a game like Zombicide!

I’ll only do that when I think we’re alone…. now?

Zombicide Survivors “Leroy” (Mr. T) & “Chaz” (Chuck Norris)

Zombicide Survivors “Leroy” (Mr. T) & "Chaz" (Chuck Norris)

As I mentioned in yesterday’s Zombicide Survivor post, the fact that I wasn’t posting as I finished models for the last couple of weeks and ended up with a little backlog of similar models means I can lightly theme some of these posts even if the models weren’t completed right after one another. So far we’ve had the Game Night Kit pair, a Big Bang Theory pair, and today we have 80’s Action Icons with Mr.T and Chuck Norris.

Zombicide Survivors “Leroy” (Mr. T)

First up, we have Mr. T. if you don’t know who he is, then I can only assume that you weren’t around during the 1980’s, as he was one of the most popular actors and celebrities of the era. If you’re unaware of the phenomenon that is (was) T, then you are a fool whom I pity. Mr.T is the sole reason I got into Pro Wrestling as a child via his involvement with the first Wrestlemania. A curse that lingers to this very day in some form or another.

Anyway, the model’s artwork is based on a photo that’s easily found featuring T wearing a camo t-shirt and.. uh.. whatever these bike shorts/short leggings are along with a weightlifting belt and 10 pounds of gold around his neck.

Zombicide Survivors "Eagle Chaz" (Chuck Norris)

Our second model today is that most famous action star of the 70’s and early 1980’s who morphed into a most monstrous meme in the early days of the internet’s rise in popularity and ubiquity on the back of Walker Texas Ranger.

The Zombicide art (and less so, the model’s pose) is based on a rather famous image of Chuck from the cover art of Invasion U.S.A. Even if you’ve never seen the movie, there’s probably a decent chance you’ve seen a form of this image. In fact, the image is so iconic for Chuck at this point in time that I didn’t even bother with the Invasion USA or the name of the character that Chuck played in that film in my post title. Because at this point in time, it’s just goddamned Chuck Norris!

The game artwork takes the U.S.A. angle a little further with the American flag embroidered onto Chaz’ shirt, so I went with that over my usual preference to match the actual actor’s photo since it’s just a tweak and it’s very much in character. I mean, the game character is referred to as “Eagle Chaz” right there on their website!
