Last post for January and February, aside from the combined round-up that will be next. Both of these figures are “inspired by” promo figures. “Bill” is from the “Gaming Night 3” set, and “Ralph” from Season 2’s extras.
The first figure is Ian McShane as Deadwood’s “Al Swearengen”. Getting the pin-stripe suit was a real bear at this scale, so hopefully the impression of it works well enough on the figure in photos. Of course at actual size it works a bit better, and then on the table at arm’s length the stripes kind of disappear into the subliminal as they do in real life at a distance. So good enough for a Zombicide model, anyway! I do need to get around to watching Deadwood as well!
Our second figure today – and the last for January-February is Woody Harrelson’s “Tallahassee” from the rather excellent film, “Zombieland” and it’s incredibly disappointing sequel “Zombieland: Double Tap”. Painting Tallahassee was really straightforward and easy – I can’t figure out why I kept putting him off for so long! Then again, there’s always a huge pile of figures waiting and so often selecting the next Zombicide survivor for the painting queue is a combo of randomness and “feel” at the moment I’m looking through the figures.
I do also have the “Wichita” figure that I painted a few years ago. It seems a little odd that CMON never produced a Jesse Eisenberg/Columbus figure. The lack of Little Rock makes a bit more sense as the character was a kid, and back in 1st edition the game didn’t have “youth” characters. These are my final models for January and February, and as such the last for Dave Stone’s Paint What You Got Challenge 24-25. I’ll have the round-up post up in a couple of days, but for now, I’m taking a couple of days off after all these daily posts before getting onto March’s stuff!

Fantastic work on all four mate, and you’ve really captured the character of them, fantastic work on the pinstripe, your attention to detail is always next level.

Thanks Dave – I’m just glad I probably don’t have many other pinstripe figures in my collection to paint – I’m no TIM, that’s for sure!

Very nice! 🙂 I think there should be rules for the zombies to check that the recoil from firing a weapon, or hitting something with a bat, doesn’t cause their arms to just snap!

Haha, well this game doesn’t go into thast much detail – figures essentially just have a couple of wounds (or one wound) but these Zombies are generally used as an option for players to continue playing (the boardgame) if their characters die – so these would be the most robust of them anyway being so fresh! 😮

I wasn’t expecting to see you paint a pinstripe suit today but it turned out great! The likeness to Deadwood is easy to spot as well so excellent job there. Its good to see Woody who is a prolific actor and from Indiana which is one state over from where I grew up as well 🙂

Thanks mate – I really need to make time to watch that series. Unfortunately it’s a bit like painting wher we have a bunch of other unfinished TV shows and such “in the way” to get through first, and we really don’t spend much time watching TV or movies.
I guess that makes your Zombieland name “Kalamazoo” then! 😉
