Zombicide Survivors & Zombivors Louise (Rue Morgue) & “Rose” (Not-Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote)

Zombicide Survivors & Zombivors Louise (Rue Morgue) & "Rose" (Not-Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote)

We’re now finally in the final stretch of my January-February models with the Zombicide contingent.

Zombicide Survivor Louise Zombicide Survivor Louise

The first one of these two figures is “Louise” – a standard boxed set survivor from the Season 3 “Rue Morgue” “standalone expansion” set. There’s apparently no specific inspiration for this character but if you ask me, there’s clearly some Rosie the Riveter DNA happening here. I pretty much followed CMON’s card art here with two small exceptions – I turned her work boots into purple Doc Martens and I gave the AK “orange wood” style plastic furniture as a bit of colour interest for the weapon. A pretty good sculpt overall, though her flashlight looks like something else. Maybe a microphone? She’s also in an extremely bent standing angle (check that top photo!) which I’ve since heat treated to improve her posture.

Our second model for today is “Rose” which is based on Angela Lansbury from Murder She Wrote. It’s one of those shows that was on TV when I was young that I had no interest in watching – so I only know the bare minimum about it with Jessca Fletcher being a crime writer and going around solving the Murder Of The Week that presumably professional Detectives and Police weren’t all that good at. Anyway – we have another Zombicide Survivor – one who starts with a Flamethrower! (But no fuel!) Again, I followed CMON’s cart art which appeared to be based on clothing that Angela wore for the show.

As with the run of Ms.Marvels we’ve just had, these figures qualify both for Dave Stone’s Paint What You Got Challenge 24-25, as well as Fembruary!

Mantic Terrain Crate (Mars Attacks!): Barricades Part 1

Mantic Terrain Crate (Mars Attacks!): Barricades

More Mantic Terrain Crate stuff originally sourced from Mars Attacks again today – These were painted before the picket fences shown in yesterday’s post – these being painted in January and February – as with those fences, these are now available from Mantic’s various “Cityscape” sets from their modern/post-apocalyptic range.

I started cleaning these up in late 2024 with the idea to get them painted over the Christmas break into 2025, which is exactly what happened. As we’ve moved further into our campaign playing through all of of Zombicide 1st edition, including all expansions, all addons and all DLC, we got to the point of barricades a little while ago, but I only have the pair that came with one of the Kickstarters.

So since I had these, it was time to get some of them done. They’ve come up decently well in the end. I varied the colours of the various elements so they hopefully don’t immediately read as a pile of duplicated pieces. I do have a bunch more of these, but before I go near those, I’ve got a few other sculpts to paint and then mix in! In the meantime, these 14 pieces also qualify for Dave Stone’s Paint What You Got Challenge 24-25.
