And now my final models for July and the 5th post of this run of Zombicide Survivors. We have an original(!) character called Alyana Heska as well as another “homage” character based on Will Ferell’s role in the Anchorman films (cue Kuribo in.. 3… 2… 1…)
Ms. Heska’s backstory is pretty simple. She’s a cosplayer at a con alongside her friend “Union Worker #42” but then suddenly, zombies! Luckily for her I guess her Katanas aren’t made from foam but actual cold steel.
I don’t know much about Wrath of Kings but I did finally find the stat card for Alyana. I backed the KS but then never did anything with the stuff. Some of it I’ll (probably/possibly) paint one day and other stuff I’ve long given away. Apparently the game is (was) pretty good but they pretty much saturated the market via the KS and there wasn’t enough interest left at retail, so CMoN eventually abandoned it. I got both Alyana and Union Worker as WoK KS exclusives as they were cross-marketing a lot of their other campaigns with Zombicide at the time.
For my Zombicide model, I pretty much did my best interpretation of the card art. I don’t love the coloour scheme but it is what it is I suppose. Finished models look decent and so we have another survivor ready for the game!
The second model of Ron Burgundy had a few options for paint, and in the end I went with the Burgundy suit from the second film. I know I saw the first one and it was all right, and I think I later watched the second one, which I guess tells you how memorable it was. I also painted his AK as the “Golden AK” which is one of the higher-quality “pimpmobile” weapons.
Regardless of how memorable or not the films were, with Ron Burgundy painted there’s once again the nice positive of having another survivor complete and ready to drop into our games.

More great work Az

Excellent work on both mate, as I know very little on either character I couldn’t comment on what you’ve done other than I like your approach to both

Thank you Dave! Anchorman is just a Will Ferell character while I know as much about hte second one as you do, but I’ll be happy enough to be able to use them both ingame. 🙂

Haha, I have no strong opinions on Anchorman. Never seen it! I don’t know if I even understand the appeal of it but that’s okay because I like the mini and you can’t go wrong with Will Ferrell either!
I wondered about the other mini and the fact that its from Wrath of Kings is a surprise to me. I had nearly forgotten about that game. CMON used to advertise it a lot when I was active user on their website, along with Dark Age, both of which are now dead as far as I can tell. Wrath of Kings definitely had an interesting aesthetic though I can’t say that it ever drew me in or made me want to paint any of the miniatures.

It was a film (or two) that we streamed one evening (or two evenings) since it had a bit of buzz and gets referenced every so often. Not the worst way to spend a couple of hours when you can’t be arsed doing anything else.
I got a bunch of the different WOK minis in the KS as I thought they’d work well in Kings of War when painted in certain ways. Never had any interest in the lore or playing the official game.

It was a pretty good run on these at the time. I need to see how much I can get painted this coming weekend as well now!

I actually like the zombie Ron better than the real one (which doesn’t happen often with these minis!). Not Ferrell’s best movie, but I guess it was popular enough for a sequel. Probably my two faves is Step Brothers (having dealt with step brothers of my own at some points!), and Taladega Nights because it’s so ridiculous at times. 😂
