Zombicide Survivors “Amy” (Pauley Perrette as Abigail ‘Abby’ Sciuto: NCIS) and “Wanda”

And now, finally, I’ve completed painting all of the survivors from the original Season 1, 1st Edition Zombicide Core Box set. (As well as their Zombvivor forms). Yes, both Amy and Wanda have been outstanding for many years, mostly because they were models that did not represent “easy wins” in terms of painting. I did initially get them ready to work on for Fembruary this year, but I didn’t manage to get properly started on them in time (aside from their bases). Let’s face it, though – we don’t need no steenking special excuses to paint our female models! Of course, Wanda didn’t get finished until April and Amy until early May…

I’ve just gone and checked out one of those “Zombicide Character Homage Lists” to see who they think Amy and Wanda might be based on – their call for Amy is the character of Abigail ‘Abby’ Sciuto, played by Pauley Perrette. Once I googled some pics of the “Abby” character played by Ms.Perrette, I have to admit it doesn’t seem incredibly far-fetched – thin Goth Chick, pigtails, and a specific kind of goth outfit.

So… yeah. Same outfit, top, studded collar and wristbands, mini-skirt, and there were also a couple of stocking pics on my image search, so I think I have to give it to the player-speculators as completely reasonable. on this one if I was happy to accept “Doug” as “Falling Down”. I mean, check out those platform buckle boots – they’re a near perfect match!

The stockings were an interesting exercise. I didn’t want to attempt to go full-fishnet, so i darkened the skin on both versions of her legs, and added in some faint cross-hatching to give a her legs a mesh stocking effect on a few peripheral locations such as the inner and outer thighs, the back of the knees and such.

I do have to admit, if I’d looked up the homage list before painting Amy, I’d have probably tried to match some of the NCIS outfits, but I’m sure Abby has more than one puffy-sleeve shirt and short skirt, so close enough…

Zombicide Survivor “Wanda”, Zombvivor, Zombivor

Wanda on the other hand also has an inspiration character listed, which is that of Wanda June, played by Ellen McElduff in the film Maximum Overdrive. On the one hand, the name is right, but on the other, the Maximum Overdrive version doesn’t seem to be a roller-waitress

With that said, I once again followed the character art, and even after seeing the possible film reference, I’m good with not worrying about it either – since it’s one that’s a bit more of a stretch.

These two, well, the survivor versions are in the group of the oldest Zombicide models, while the Zombivor ones are just a couple of years more recent. While it’s good to finally get these two/four models finally painted and ready for our games, there are also the “Ultimate Survivor” versions I have to paint, as well as their redux versions from the Zombicide 2nd Edition Core set…
