In a similar way to how I finally got a few of my Hobbits and Ruffians and Frateris Militia painted a little while back, I’ve finally gotten a few of my metal Ungor painted – and under 30 years late! And just in time for a cool Age of Sigmar update!
The three of these were pretty quick and easy to paint – messing around with the shields ended up making them take a lot longer. I’ve got another three out now to paint at some stage in another small sub-batch. I’ll use slightly different paints for their skin and fur, and so bit by bit I’ll create some small variation in fur/skin tones. But first, I’ve got a fair few more things to get finished…
Great work on these classic old metals mate, and the shields may have made them take longer, they are well worth it, as they add some great personality to each model.

Thanks Dave. I wanted to use (but could not find) the more modern kind of beastman shield – the “made of wood” ones. I might have some with some plastic Ungor – somewhere – but just went with the era-correct ones instead in the end with some skeleton bits decorating them.

I don’t think I ever seen these minis before. Though I only learned about Ungors like a year or two ago! 🤪
I like the tanned skin tone. They look pretty smooth overall!

These are the older ones of them, being the first metal range long before the plastics, though I still think of them as a new addition to the Beastmen!

Fantastic work! Love the crazy stare of the Ungor in the middle, haha 😀

Thanks mate. When they give a model those sort of googly eyes what else can you do?

If not for their hooves, these could be oni or demons, pretty easily! Having said that, I like how you painted them. Dave is right that each one seems to have its own personality which is an impressive accomplishment.

I can see that! They’ll seem a lot less unique when I have another three of the same sculpts done, and then another three, and another, and…. 😮

Thanks John!
Listen to the first 4 seconds of this song (the spoken part) for this Ungor’s comments!

Was there meant to be a link there (or I could just be being thick – I’m increasingly getting better at that)! 🙂

Great job on some old school minis. I really like those guys. I think I would use them as demons in my fantasy games.

Thanks mate – they certainly have the profiles and designs for stereotypical “imp demons”, don’t they? 😀
