28mm RN-7 Medical Robots (Curufin 3D Prints)

More 3D Prints today. We have some more from sculptor Curufin with a Star Wars Legion-inspired theme, though this time they’re.. well, they’re not exactly infantry, nor humanoid, but they’re “your dudes”-scale droids. Being the 28mm RN-7 Medical Robots that can be found as free STL files over on Cults3D. Pretty straightforward prints. I went with the versions that have most of their extendo-arms in their housing to make them easier to deal with. I printed three on my Bambulab FDM printer several months ago, though it looks like they didn’t come out as fine as the Imperial Officers that were printed much more recently with those gnarly print lines. I might not have used filler primer on these ones. I can’t recall. At least they still kinda fit in for droid textures, I guess!

The three schemes I used to paint them in are the darker one, based on both the Imperial Medical droid and the Black-Silver-Copper look of the Imperial Astromechs; and then both dull steel and blued steel based on different images and toys of FX-7 who had a brief moment gluing Luke back together after his encounter with the Wampa in Empire Strikes Back. Here they are aloingside some of their official medical contemporaries from SW: Legion. Much like the Gonks I painted some time ago, these will be used as set dressing for games where appropriate – essentially civilian scatter terrain, with the possibility of using as extra facitonal medics if I ever need them.
