As you can see, I painted a bunch more Zombie Dogz over November…
Three Brown Dogz. These Dogz are Brown. And they are Zombiez.
Three Black Dogz. These Dogz are Black. And they are also Zombiez.
Three Mottled Black and Brown and White Dogz. These Dogz have more fur colours. And they are also undead beasts.
Two more Dogz. These ones don’t fit with the others, but they fit with ones I’ve already painted. They’re not hard to paint, but they are boring to paint!
Since I’d found that a third sculpt was pretty similar to the first two, in that it’s a shorthair with a docked tail, I did some more “catch-up” with some of the mottled styles. Basically I’m doing three of each broad type of fur pattern using one of each of the three sculpts. I’ve got one more set of these finished in December, but I’m not yet sure what I’m going to do with the remaining two trios of these – and then there’s all the German Shepherds in a single pose to get me to 40 Dogz in total…
An undead person’s best friend – NOT! 🙂 Nice work on these! 🙂 I’d call them zogs!

Heheh thanks John. I’ll tell you one thing for sure – they’re not a survivor’s best friends! They’re terrifying in-game as they’re so fast and also at the bottom of the targeting order…

Nicely done mate, though they look like they might be feeling a bit ‘ruff’ 😁

Excellent work mate, and the varied fur colours add variation, to what is 3 very similar sculpts.

Thanks Dave! Yeah, when dealing with so many repeated sculpts as with these or even the walkers that aren’t all dressed in prison orange I just try to go for an indistinct mess by varying the colours so it looks a little less like Attack of the Clones!

Great job getting these done, mate. They look nice and the fur and color patterns look spot-on to me. Its a shame they didn’t try to make at least one other dog sculpt as zombie Chihuahuas are most certainly the fiercest breed by far! 😉

Haha thanks. The last sculpt is of a German Shepherd, but there’s only one of it, so I’m going to batch paint those together once I’ve got of these others done..

Haha thanks. Not much to write about models like this, especially in numbers!

Great work mate. Every time I see your zombies I keep thinking I must do something along those lines. 🤔

I’m sure you could put together quite the atmospheric little vignette, given your talents! 😀

Well you’ve certainly got me thinking that’s for sure. 🤔

I’ve never played Zombcide with dogs , but hey sound like a handful! We have enough trouble just handling the two legged shamblers!!
Very nicely done, even if you did find them a little boring. 😉
Cheers Roger.

Yeah, we haven’t used them since the first “campaign” we played several years ago, so the plan is to incorporate them into some (all?) of the “DLC” missions once we’ve completed all of the boxed sets’ campaigns. Along with the Crowz that are yet to be used or painted…
They were fine at first in terms of painting, but once you’ve painted your 5th set of dog “triplets”, trying to make each set of them distinctive and each one within that trio slightly different when not all one colour it can start to wear… :p

Ohhh noooo! Haha Zombie dogz just pose too many unfair conflicts of interest: To boop the snoot or aim for the head before it kills and eats you? If not friend, why friend-shaped?? I guess the zombie dogz would get to eat my brainz while I grapple with trying to rub their belly while they’re eating me alive. lol

I guess it’s them doubling down on things that terrify people – angry dogs barking at you + zombies!
Lukily we have the Dog Companions to provide the friend aspect – and we’ve been using those for years, since I painted them up right away! 😀
