Had my knee surgery this morning. Need to keep the leg elevated for ?? days (need to have it clarified from the surgeon) so no painting or proper blogging from the PC for a bit…
Thanks mate. I may be able to start sitting normally as soon as sometime today for short periods, so hopefully I can make the most of my time off work! 😅
OOOOph… I broke my kneecap on my 21st… To say I can relate to some of the pain you might be going through/will be going through is meant in the most sincere way. Best of luck mate, I will throw up a canticle to the Omnissiah for you.
Oh shit mate. That’s not good at all. I had a tibial plateau fracture a few years ago which had a long recovery . Hope your kneecap is a faster recovery and yep I certainly share your empathy on fucked up knees and the endless issues with them!
These are our crutches. Originally Maroudas from a few years ago these also saw me through my broken knee (other knee!) at the end of lockdowns. Feels like they’re best kept for the next go round… 🫨
Cripes, I had a bit of a panic when I saw the pics, but then realised that your op’s over and you’re out the other side! Hope all goes well! Please try to take it easy for a bit! 🙂
Yep. I had a little sleep on the table but made it through. Now just hoping that the recovery is quick and full now. 2 weeks off work should help it heal as the surgeon was pretty firm that I need to take it easy for at least 2 weeks…
I’m glad to hear the surgery went well and I hope you have a speedy recovery. Being away from work can’t be the worst thing in the world either! If I remember right, your busy season is coming up in a couple of months so it can be a bit of calm before the storm 🙂
It’s actually the start of the busy period right now, so I will need to do some work from home that I *technically* shouldn’t be doing (because medical leave) but will make life a lot less stressful once I return.
I also managed to set up stuff to happen in my absence so shouldn’t get much in terms of people contacting me while I’m out.
Once I do get back I’ll still need to take a lot of it easy until the end of the year so people will just need to work around me for that time to a degree (with physical stuff at least!)
Hopefully it worls out! Haven’t done any video gaming yet, and just a tiny bit of painting yesterday and this morning (painting more blue jeans) so hopefully it all works. 🙂
Thanks mate – got a GP appointment a few days after the surgeon followup to get the physio referral. Have some time off work over summer to get back to the gym properly as well. 🙂
Sorry to hear this, hope Leonard isn’t like our cats or you’ll have him adding his weight on top of your already sore knees when he see’s you laying out! (hopefully he won’t stick his claws in too, though I wouldn’t hold my breath over that!).
He likes to smother my face when I’m on my chairs. He’s wary of my legs when I’m asleep (must have bumped him too many times when he was younger) – so he sleeps next to Marouda’s legs/feet instead…
He does like to claw his way up my chest to adjust while sitting on me, though…
What T F?

I wish you could heal as fast as you can paint (and paint remarkably well, at that. I’ll never understand how you do it.) Get well soon!

Mine happened 17 years ago though, yeah I regret being so stupidly drunk…

Ah I misread! Though you said on THE 21st rather than on YOUR 21st.. glad it’s long past. 😁

Speedy recovery mate. Time to get Skippy trained to bring you the necessary supplies.

I’d have more success with a fictional kangaroo than with Leonard! 🤨

What you mean Skippy the Bush Kangaroo wasn’t real… so who the heck saved the kids from the croc infested billabong then?

Well, the Skippys were real (mostly), but they’re no longer with us, sadly….
For a superior experience (in about 3 minutes) try Charlie the Wonderdog!

Do you get to keep the crutches? I would be cool to see what else you could do with them!

Thanks mate. 2 weeks off work… except I’ll still need to do a bunch of stuff while on medical leave. 🙄
