Today we have more all paid-for STL buildings from Wargame Forge on MyMiniFactory. This time it’s one of the Adeptus Legions-styled models in all three configurations – intact, damaged and destroyed.
Basically, an L-shaped apartment block-type building. As per usual, I printed two of these, mirroring one of them to add in a little bit of variation.
While there wasn’t a lot to look at for the undamaged versions, the damaged versions offer a bit more visual interest from different angles. What’s that? L-shaped ruins? Must be a 40k post!
So depending on how they’re aligned (if not used to swap out for the undamaged versions) they can have quite different looks on the tabletop.
I also found that if I place the two of these together – as in our first photo of the undamaged versions up top – we end up with quite the visual!
The destroyed versions hardly demand multiple angles, of course – but what a difference between damaged and destroyed! These destroyed ones obnviously work for any buildings with the same footprint, so expect to see more of these one day down the line.
I always enjoy these scale shots of groups of buildings. Well, not setting them up so much – but looking at them afterwards. I really need to get more Battletech Mechs and Legions Imperalis models painted.
We had planned to (finally) have a game of Alpha Strike a week or so ago, but a “simple” couple of print assembly jobs ended up getting stretched over more than a week due to all the little hiccups (need to reprint this piece, forgot to print that piece, I need to make a custom part here or there – and most frustrating – waiting for the glue to dry! New plan is to clean up the table (again) and get a tabletop game or two in this weekend and maybe even some photos – wish us luck!

Hope you get the games in, I’m busting to see a battle report with all this scenery set up for a game, not just photo’s!!!

Well, it’ll be some very small games to start with and learn rules with only a fraction of the terrain, but things are looking positive with the table almost clear of construction projects…

Very nice, Az. I’ve been thinking of picking up some BattleTech, and these buildings look perfect!

Cheers Eric. I’m hoping to (finally) get a game of Alpha Strike in this weekend so I’ll be able to see how well they work on a table.

I really love seeing these old cardboard buildings being converted into actual 3D stuff. Lovely job!

Yeah, that’s what attracted me to these sculpts and why I chose a bunch that reminded me of those original card buildings (as well as a few more!)

The buildings look fantastic! I really like the damaged ones best. I don’t know what says about me! I hope you enjoy Alpha Strike when you get around to playing it. There’s no doubt you’ll have a great looking game 🙂

Thanks mate! The damaged ones certainly have more going on visually, and would be a bit more rarely seen overall online compared to undamaged ones.

Nicely done! 🙂 I think the “destroyed” ones have a more “destroyed and rubble cleared away prior to redevelopment” look, but they’re quite useful if you want to place vehicles or mechs on them!

They certainly do – especially since the same footprint would be used for a single storey building or a skyscraper, though ultimately it’s another gameplay abstraction. Cat litter scatter around them optional 😀
