3D Print: Sci Fi – Market Stand by Two Goblins in a Trench Coat

3D Print: Sci Fi - Market Stand by Two Goblins in a Trench Coat

A very quick one today – just a couple of Market Stands that I decided to print, again inspired by watching Chris Peach aka “Peachy”‘s “The Rambolorian” YouTube series. Just as a couple of background pieces, I thought that they looked good and fit well into the more agrarian and “bustling marketplace” look that Star Wars cultivates, as opposed to everything being made of pointed grimdark archways and skulls that 40k has leaned a little too hard into. Obviously, they will also work well with most fantasy settings, though I feel like they may work better for AoS’s upscaled fantasy models more than the older WHFB-scaled models, as shown here.

These STLs came from Makerworld, and are free downloads from the designer “Two Goblins in a Trench Coat”, who has some nice stuff on their pages across a few tabletop genres. Well worth checking out if you’re looking for terrain to print that’s not AI-generated slop! The two pieces here also go towards Dave Stone’s Season of Scenery 2026 painting challenge! At some poijnt I’ll have to find some wares to place on the tables, but that’s a problem for later!

More 3D Prints today. We have some more from sculptor Curufin with a Star Wars Legion-inspired theme, though this time they’re.. well, they’re not exactly infantry, nor humanoid, but they’re “your dudes”-scale droids. Being the 28mm RN-7 Medical Robots that can be found as free STL files over on Cults3D. Pretty straightforward prints. I went with the versions that have most of their extendo-arms in their housing to make them easier to deal with. I printed three on my Bambulab FDM printer several months ago, though it looks like they didn’t come out as fine as the Imperial Officers that were printed much more recently with those gnarly print lines. I might not have used filler primer on these ones. I can’t recall. At least they still kinda fit in for droid textures, I guess!

The three schemes I used to paint them in are the darker one, based on both the Imperial Medical droid and the Black-Silver-Copper look of the Imperial Astromechs; and then both dull steel and blued steel based on different images and toys of FX-7 who had a brief moment gluing Luke back together after his encounter with the Wampa in Empire Strikes Back. Here they are aloingside some of their official medical contemporaries from SW: Legion. Much like the Gonks I painted some time ago, these will be used as set dressing for games where appropriate – essentially civilian scatter terrain, with the possibility of using as extra facitonal medics if I ever need them.
