We’re now finally in the final stretch of my January-February models with the Zombicide contingent.
The first one of these two figures is “Louise” – a standard boxed set survivor from the Season 3 “Rue Morgue” “standalone expansion” set. There’s apparently no specific inspiration for this character but if you ask me, there’s clearly some Rosie the Riveter DNA happening here. I pretty much followed CMON’s card art here with two small exceptions – I turned her work boots into purple Doc Martens and I gave the AK “orange wood” style plastic furniture as a bit of colour interest for the weapon. A pretty good sculpt overall, though her flashlight looks like something else. Maybe a microphone? She’s also in an extremely bent standing angle (check that top photo!) which I’ve since heat treated to improve her posture.
Our second model for today is “Rose” which is based on Angela Lansbury from Murder She Wrote. It’s one of those shows that was on TV when I was young that I had no interest in watching – so I only know the bare minimum about it with Jessca Fletcher being a crime writer and going around solving the Murder Of The Week that presumably professional Detectives and Police weren’t all that good at. Anyway – we have another Zombicide Survivor – one who starts with a Flamethrower! (But no fuel!) Again, I followed CMON’s cart art which appeared to be based on clothing that Angela wore for the show.
As with the run of Ms.Marvels we’ve just had, these figures qualify both for Dave Stone’s Paint What You Got Challenge 24-25, as well as Fembruary!

Very neat matey, but I will pass on having a date with them😉

Thanks Pat! They do seem a tad unhinged, don’t they? 😀

I like these, really nice! 🙂 I think if Jessca Fletcher was armed with a flamethrower in Murder She Wrote I’d have watched it!

It might have made the show more interesting!

John’s right on what was missing from Murder She Wrote. These are both cool minis and something a bit different both from what wargamers usually paint but even from other Zombicide minis as well. I think they all came out really nicely and they will stand out well on the board when you play.

Too true. A Tacticool Jessica Fletcher could have made all the difference. Especially if it were the 1947 version of her – she might even be on Pat’s dating radar in that case!
More seriously after a lifetime of painting Space Marines, Beastmen, Dwarfs, Orcs, etc it’s nice to have interesting one-off (or two-off) models to paint which is where the Zombicide and Cthulhu games come into their own quite often.

Excellent stuff as always. I might rewatch some Murder She Wrote now that I see Angela Lansbury’s signature weapon is a flamethrower.

haha thanks mate. That sounds completely feasable for the genre of show. 😉
