More terrain today. I know that Dave Stone’s Season of Scenery is just around the corner, and while I’ll be in on that for sure, I’m posting models finished in April right now because I have been – and still am way behind on the ol’ blog.
What we have here then, is a bit of a failure on my part to get things done. This was one of those “easy wins” that sits around in sprue form for years, and then I get it in my head to just smash the thing out and get it done, only for it to end up sitting in limbo for literally a couple of years, taking up space as it floats around on top of other things on my mess of a painting desk…
– until the day when I eventually crack the shits about seeing the bloody thing and then make a new effort to get it finished so I can fuck it off out of the way.
So here it is! Done! Finished! Completed! it doesn’t even look too bad, especially given how much of a pain in the arse it was to get painted. There’s one small(!) problem with it, though.
The scale. I don’t have any of my Bolt Action models handy, but it looks to me like it’ll be a bit small even for them. In any case, it’s too small for me to use with… really anything else. Actually, even looking at the promo pics of this thing over on Warlord’s website, it’s a bit small for those models, and they’ve had to use some …creative layout of the models to make it fit. Well, the link is there, so if anyone wants to buy an undersized, overpriced (£20.00!!!) terrain kit, off you go!

Bugger me mate😂😂! You have described a lot of my attempts over the years, at least you ended up with a bit of magic, it’s a bit of a shame about the scale 😵💫😂😂.

Thanks Pat! I couldn’t really convey the true experience of this piece of terrain without all of the swearing included!
And the sad part is that it really *did* turn out pretty well, if not for the scale!

Great to see you clear another Albatross from the pile, shame about the scale, but fantastic work on it, the weathering and damage look amazing.

Thanks Dave! Every project is practice for the next one, I guess!

That is a shame on the scale issues. I like the terrain and it looks very playable otherwise. I guess the best news here is that its done and out of the way!

Thanks mate – I guess I could always use it as destroyed housing for Ratlings in the Imperium!

Does look good though! 🙂 Maybe just put it in a corner on a game board so its scale is not so obvious!

Yeah, it’s more a decorative piece than something that will work in an interactive way unfortunately. Doubly ironic given how much the layout of it is clearly designed for providing cover in a gaming situation!
