March-April 2026 Monthly Round-Up

Another dual-monthly Round-Up today. Yes, at the end of May, I’ve finally finished posting March and April’s models while not yet having photographed a single one of May’s models.

It’s been awhile now – I didn’t even realise that the greenish buildings hadn’t yet been rounded up for one of these posts.

Only two “proper” Legion models as well, not counting the 3D printed Legion-Compatable terrain pieces. I did at least finish off a nice little chunk of Marvel Zombies’ Bystander models with six done (and more to come!)

I also took a few photos of the two broad scale categories alone, to give a little bit of a different perspective on each.

I do of course always like to see the all-in-one photos, but when you’ve got a couple of months smooshed together along with some incogruent scales of models, I’m thinking it might be nice to give them a bit of space to visually “breathe”. Metaphorically speaking.

Funny – it looks like more models when they’re laid out separately like that, doesn’t it! It certainly gives each model a chance to be seen, even in the context of a tiny part of a cityscape – but even that is improved as opposed to just a mass of stuff smushed together in a tight grey mass.

Well, that’s it for March and April. Now onto sharing May’s models during June… 🙄

    • Cheers Dave! May turned out to have some pretty solid output numbers. I’ve been taking photos and typing up the posts in advance to avoid falling an addiitonal month behind, so posts should be pretty regular for awhile now!

    • Thanks mate. I’ve been working on getting some actual Legion Troops painted this month, so while they might not be the ones associated with Krennic, there’ll be some coming up!

  1. That is a hefty terrain haul! I like the variety in subject and scale. And not so secretly, I hope we’ll see more small-scale buildings in future months as I need all the inspiration I can get to finish painting mine one of these days 🙂

    • Thanks mate. I didn’t manage to get any buildings painted in May, so the next probably-month worth of posts won’t have any (no tanks, either). I completely ran out of gas on the buildings again, so I need to recharge my building-painting-stamina – but there’s at least one I want to get finished this month that you’ll probably see next month since I’m so far behind.

    • Thank you!

The self-contained square buildings were painted firstly with a solid Spray of Montana Black “surgery” then zenithal of Montana Black “nappies”. Then sponge-stippled with some light teals + white from Testor’s and/or Apple Barrel craft paints.

The domed building and the domed top piece were painted with some of the Army Painter Fanatic paints from the teal range, again base coated with a darker one and stippled into the lighter and brighter ones with a bit of white added in the end.
