After a good while since the last Marvel Zombies models shown here we return today to the game’s bystander figures with a pair from the X-Men Resistance Core Set. We have Senator Kelly, an X-Men character who is notable because of his advocacy for the Mutant Registration Act, and secondly Bolivar Trask – an evil Tony Stark-type – who might seem a bit tall if you’ve never read the comics and only seen the Fox films. Don’t worry though – you’ll see Dinklage along on the blog eventually.
Basically, two white guys in suits. Not the hardest models to paint, but then also not the funnest, either. Suits really aren’t my favourite, but these two weren’t too bad – and I do like how Bolivar’s turned out nice and smooth while Kelly’s looks somewhat textured. The outfit colours were taken from the character cards rather than any specific comics or films, so we just have a grey suit and a grey-brown suit.

Excellent work on both, and some basic suited people in any game adds a sense of realism, even if they are despicable characters both in the movies, and comics ! LOL

Very true, mate – and they’re only meant to be glorified tokens in Marvel Zombies. It’ll be when I work out custom profiles for regular Zombicide that they’ll become a bit more interesting.

I like the way you’ve painted these villains. They might look a little generic within the Marvel Zombies range but they’ll do you nicely as NPCs in a variety of other games too.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right – aside from use as tokens and custom survivors they still have that use as generic civilians for a lot of modern games.

I agree with Dave that these two mutant haters look really nice even if they’re just men in suits. I’ll never forget Senator Kelly’s “scenes” in the first X-Men movie as they are certainly memorable!

Cheers mate! You’re doing better than I am – I can’t remember a thing about that first X-Man movie. I may have to do a rewatch and catch up on the rest of the series sometime!

That movie is old now for sure. It is one of the first “modern” superhero movies as well which is crazy to think about. I liked it pretty well back then but haven’t tried to rewatch it so I can’t say how well it has aged.

Yeah it’ll be interesting when I do eventually watch it again and then as many of them follow ups as I can stomach…

Towards the end, they predictably get a bit rough or mediocre, I guess you could say!
