I’m back again after another little break until I was able to make time (and a clear table) for another big batch of photos. This time we have another pair of 1:1 prints – Bolt Pistols!
As with the previous prints of this type that I shared – the MK.V Godwyn Pattern Boltguns – I went with a nice metallic red and metallic green. Unlike the previous prints, the screws in the casing are just surface detail that I may paint in a bit later.
As you can see, even though this is a piece of “fan art”, there’s a bit of an discrepency between the size of the bolter rounds that could fit into the magazine and the barrel size. Still, given that this is a free and freely available fan art model of a toy gun from a pretty pulpy science-fantasy universe, I’m still pretty good with it – especially due to the “rule of cool”.
This particular model also features a removable magazine. In lieu of gluing them in for the time being, I’ve chosen to use blu-tac to hold them in, and it’s working fine so far.
Thanks to Marouda for the use of her feminine hand modelling skills here. You may also notice her trigger discipline as well!
These were printed quite awhile ago now, and then assembled sometime later, over the Easter break. I got some of the shots not too long afterwards, but only grabbed the last couple ones I wanted yesterday. Hope you enjoyed seeing these! I’ll be back to more normal models again with my next post!

Now this is just rubbing salt in the wound! Bolt guns and bolt pistols!
I’m so jealous, and so is my boy!

I’m ready to run around my backyard making pew pew noises just like I used to in the dim past. Not sure how well my knees will take it now compared to then, though! 😮

They look great, I’m so impressed.
But I will be very put out of you print a 1:1 scale Rhino or something next! 😁

Ha! I think a JoyToy Rhino would be the closest I can ever ghet to something like that. I am, however looking at a few other 1:1 (or near to) props I can print out. I’m no cosplayer, but I do appreciate some cool toys, and I’ve always loved things like helmets!

I’d be similarly put out if you end up with a suit of power armour too! 😜

Maybe just the helmet for now…. 🤔

Cheers Dave. My Plasma weapons have taken a back seat over the last few months following a few hiccups, so I should probably get back onto those!

Plasma guns too – come on!

Yeah had a failed print on a core component and couldn’t seem to get it to work even with tweaking. Will get back to it at some stage and see if I can get around it…

These are brilliant! 🙂 I just so love the impracticality of GW weapon designs!

You wouldn’t want a friendly fire accident with a plastic bolter, after all!

Both look great… well done.

I’m in love with this. Next step is using a Nerf gun inside a Bolter encasement!

There’s some pretty decent looking nerf guns that are pretty close out there. I did a google after your comment and saw a YT video of a guy building a custom one based on a bolter as well!

Excellent work by you and your model on these photos. Its amazing to see the weapons in a life-size scale and they look fantastic as well. Its almost like we’re in the year 40,000 🙂

Printing a few larger scale pieces is actually quite a nice change of pace, though as always the problem becomes where to display/store/put all of them! 😬
