Back in November or December, I finally completed the last, small, uninspiring parts of this set. The counters! Now in mid-April I’m finally posting them on the interwebs. The only exciting thing about this whole thing is that it did finally complete all of the parts from the AI accessories boxed set.
I used the same techniques described in the two previous posts to get these done, though it took longer because I wasn’t excited about painting them and being double-sided, they were a bit more of a pain in the arse to do.
And for more-or-less completeness’ sake in this post, here are the main of the two factions in the box – Orks and Imperial Navy. Now at some point I just need to start assembling and painting the actual kits that come in the core box. And then maybe think about perhaps playing a game at some stage…
Looking good mate – those uninspiring paint jobs are good to get off your chest 😉

Thanks Alex – it’s part of my “post everything I do” mantra!

Lots of nice ground-based weapons there! 🙂 All very nicely done!

Thanks John. Now to paint up the air forces!

They may have been uninspiring to start with but they look great now – I’d be well happy with a set of counters looking that good.
Great work, as always.

Well put, I’m quite happy with them being (finally) completed!

I have no knowledge of this game (sorry) but beautiful painting is beautiful painting whatever!
Cheers Roger.

It’s a new edition of an older game – basically 40k air dogfighting combat. So naturally I painted the add-on box of ground assets first. 😀

I really like your strategic approach to the contents here. Very disciplined.

Thanks Curis. Breaking itr down like this into smaller chunks is the only way I can get something like this finished. Usually I don’t get the whole project finished, sadly!

That’s keen you got it all done. You did a nice job on them. What are those flat building looking things that don’t have the AA guns?

Thanks Ann. The set refers to them as Bunkers, so I figure they’ll be those as well as any adjacent kinds of targets. I may have to make some custom ones like fuel tankers at some point down the line.

Thanks, that is interesting to know. That is a good idea about making some customized fuel tanks. Also, I wonder if something like a radar installation might be not be something that would fit into the theme, since I imagine that radar-controlled/guided AA fire might be a thing?

I haven’t yet played, but either way it sounds like something that would work as a great visual at the very least. Just to find some little radar-type dishes now! (until I buy and figure out 3d printing, one day).

Those looks great- functional but good. Need to pick up a set for myself.
Cheers,
Pete.

I imagine they’ll be a nice addition to the board over the cardboard standards. 🙂

Oddly specific question: what’s that green color?

It’s a spray prime of white, followed by Contrast Paint Militarium Green gave and then a drybrush of Vallejo Bonewhite.

These all look great! It is always hard to stay motivated when painting stuff like this so I would imagine it was nice to get these done and out of your to-be-painted queue 🙂

Yeah, they’re very much models that fit into the “happy to get them off my painting table and away from me” category.
