Vikings, Tuttugu! – Shieldmaiden Hearthguard with Axes #Fembruary 2021 (Bad Squiddo Games)

Bad Squiddo Games Shieldmaiden Hearthguard with Axes

And here’s my second batch of Bad Squiddo’s Shieldmaidens. This time with Axes. I guess we just need to overlook the length on these Daneaxes – or at least ignore the the fact that they’re being weilded single-handed and the damage that these poses would do to anyone’s wrists, since axes aren’t weighted anything like a sword. Yeah, it does bother me a little bit, as these are meant to be historical models rather than over the top fantasy or 40k models, but I’ll live with it now that I’ve had my little bitch about it. Wrist issues aside, these are quite nice models and have been painted (once again) with Alex’ #Fembruary 2021 challenge over on Leadbaloony in mind. As with all of the stuff I’ve gotten done lately, they also work for Dave Stone’s Paint What You Got Challenge.

Just like the four shown yesterday, these four were prety straightfoward to paint, again the only points of challenge being on the shields. I do really have to say that at this point in time I’m well and truly over doing freehand designs on Viking shields. Sadly, I’ve got at least one more batch of these models that I’m trying to get completed before February concludes, so …yay?
