Not much to say here. While poking around the boxes of Kickstarter junk while cleaning up recently I found a whote box I picked up from the Massive Darkness Kickstarter contining Doors & Bridges. The doors look like a bit of work while the bridges looked like very little work. Can you guess which ones got fished out and painted?
I did find them a bit too clean and plain, so I did the Liquid Greenstuff Texture trick (just dab the crap on to a smooth surface to create some texture), and also gave a bit of hint of a green tone around the underside and edges, to suggest mould due to moisture. While these were painted in July, they’re clearly far from Jewels. But they’ll work ok whenever we eventually play MD (sometime after Imperial Assault, I’d say) as well as in various other wargames. Maybe not Kill Team, but they’d certainly be fine for Middle-Earth Battle Companies!
That’s a coincidence, I just watched tabletop minions video about liquid green stuff for texture. They look good mate. Can you do some insitu pix? Possibly with a river? Hehe

At some stage, but not anytime soon. 🙂

Looks good, the added texture definitely helps. I have to say, tho, it’s neither massive nor dark 😉

Once I open the game box, I’ll see how massive or dark the rest of it is. 😉

The fact that Tom Bombadil makes the bridge look under-scaled really caught my eye.

Yeah. Very much a small footbridge rather than a proper wargaming bridge. Or to put it another way – designed to fit on part of one section of a boardgame tile while replacing a card scenery token. 😉

Actually, they’d work ok for 20mm games. I should have photographed them with a tank crossing over the top!

Sweet, the liquid green stuff texture is a pretty nice trick. Especially showing through at the bottom. I’ll have to give that a try sometime.

Yeah, it’s subtle and you don’t really notice it – the thing is, you’d notice the overly-smoothness of the bridge (and often other surfaces) so you’re doing it so people *don’t* notice…

They are pretty and I imagine it is always nice to have more terrain. They sort of look to me like they have a subtle, low key magical quality about them.

I can see that – The green kind of gives that feel. They’d work well in a small park or garden space. Which might be a thing one day if I ever get my urban tiles painted.
