Another small-ish batch of models completed in April this time. I did manage to finally complete two small units – one for each side of my Flames of War desert forces, a couple more Zombicide survivors, my second pair of those Shieldwolf Yetis (one left to go!) a few Journeys in Middle-Earth heroes and villains and a few other random models from 40k, necromunda and Reaper Miniatures.
I feel like I really need to crank it up on the Zombicide and Journeys models, and while I have more models from each on the desk right now, it’s still slow going. The final pair of Yetis are on the desk, as I’m making an attempt to complete them for Monster MAYhem, so hopefully they’ll be up here soon(ish)…
The numbers are once again down a little bit this past month, with 23 models completed (though I did paint one of those Marder crew separately and glue him down later) – so I’ll give myself 24. With that added to the 126 I had complete by the end of March, that gives me 150 models so far for 2022. Once again, 23/4 models is again under my “soft target” of one model for each day of each month, and I’m not sure how well May is going so far (as of the 7th of May I have five models completed), but I am at least still getting stuff done!
Great work as always, Az! Here’s hoping May is off to a good start.

Thanks mate. I’ve been under the weather for the last week, so not the start I’d have liked, but I’ve gotten a few models painted at least…

Good amount of models finished mate, and all up to your excellent standard, even though you’ve dropped below your soft target of one every day, what you’ve achieved so far is no small feet.

Thank you Dave. I’ll just have to attempt to catch up again and add in the “missing” numbers to the next few months…

Thanks Roger! Not as many as I’d wanted, but not a terrible month, either!

A varied selection there I think, all very nice! 🙂 Whereas one model a day can be what you aim for, not all models were created equal (so you could paint some 15mm FoW WW2 minis to get the numbers up)!

Thanks John, and absolutely true. I’ve not been leaning into the scatter terrain stuff this year (so far) so that obviously affects the numbers!

I still really like those yetis! I also have to say that for all my complaints about you painting tanks, I think this month had a nice balance of other kinds of minis for those of us not as interested in WWII so good on you for that! 😀

Hahah thanks. I’m sure you’ll be okay with this month’s stuff given how light on WWII it’s been so far. Having said that, I really need to do a WWII push in the next couple of months and try to get the DAK infantry and artillery done once and for all. Not something I’m looking forward to, but more a knuckle down and push through it situation…

I know what you mean. It could be a lot of repetition in those models. Artillery, in particular, is not always fun to paint en masse. I’ll grin and bear it for you, mate 😉

The actual guns will be quick and easy I think. The painful part will be painting 4-6 15mm crew for each gun, which will mean 3-4 types with, say 4 guns each gives me 12-16 guns with 48-96 crew.
Even the crewmen aren’t hard, they’re just not fun – and in those sorts of numbers – pretty bloody tedious.
