Last Night on Earth Hero Pack 1 Survivors Complete: Jade, High School Outcast & Mr.Goddard, Chemistry Teacher

Last Night on Earth Hero Pack 1 Survivors: Jade, High School Outcast, Mr.Goddard, Chemistry Teacher

Another pair of Last Night on Earth survivor models today with the second half of the Survivors from Hero Pack 1. We have the rather Milquetoast looking character of Mr.Goddard, and the much more interesting “Troubled Teen” of Jade, who incidently is taller than the teacher. Given the “Goth” look of Jade in the artwork, I kinda disregarded the official paint scheme, which was pretty easy since there’s not a lot of available art. Instead, I painted her much more like some of the Goth chicks I used to know in my own youth.

This also gave me another subject for painting black in different ways on the same model. Stripey leggings replaced by plain black tights, leather jacket with a logo slightly obscured by the hoodie (No-Prize available to the first person who recognises it!) Same deal for the two band logos visible on the skateboard – which is the biggest anachronism on the model to me, well, aside from the honkin’ great magnum revolver. I am pretty happy with the Anarchy symbol on the board, though – that came out perfectly! Oh, and there’s one more Easter Egg there for Alan Moore fans!

Purple-black hair to finish, since it fits, and even more black for her hair would have been perhaps too many to pull off. We can see that Goddard’s extinguisher contains foam, for maximum hilarity (if pro wrestling has taught me anything) when spraying the undead!

To wrap up, here’s a group shot of all four of the Hero Pack survivors. My original plan was to get these completed back in February so the two female characters could be part of Alex’ Fembruary challenge. They got overtaken by Shieldmaidens in the end, but I have at least managed to persevere and get them done not too long afterwards – and a thanks to Ann for the  “Neglected But Not Forgotten” painting challenge that certainly helped with keeping the motivation up to get these completed, post-Fembruary!

Speaking of painting challenges – anyone know if any blog-based painting challenges are running in April that are pretty open to participation?
